In the short two years of her existence, the "Jessie" was used as a general purpose carrying ship. She travelled from British ports to and from the Azores (fruit trade), Corunna and Alicante - and she even travelled to Cuba once. When she sank, she had been to Russia for rigging for the owners' new ship, the Dispatch. Unfortunately one of them, Thomas David, was aboard at the time, and froze to death in the lifeboat along with two others.
